ABOUT

Priya Sen is a filmmaker and artist with an embodied and eclectic practice with video and sound. Her work may be described as part keeping record, part poetry, part documentary, and part cinematic gesture. Her practice with nonfiction film explores forms for tenuousness, ambiguity and un-settling, as modes for navigating urban lives and experience. She is interested in itinerant and egalitarian film forms and new vocabularies for socially embedded media practice. Each work is simultaneously an exploration of form and manners of presence. It is equally an exploration of cinematic gestures, to be able to respond to the instabilities of our present.

Priya was a Radcliffe Fellow and Harvard Film Study Centre Fellow from 2023 - 24. She studied film and media practice at Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, where she got an MA, and an MFA from Temple University, Philadelphia.
